Operational Excellence Consultant - Customer Operations
We are currently recruiting for a full time permanent, Operational Excellence Consultant, based in our Customer Operations. You will work in partnership with the Senior OE Consultant and a range of senior managerial levels to deliver portfolios of OE work streams through the full OE intervention life cycle. You will lead major and multiple work streams in their entirety. Deploying your expert Lean Six Sigma skills the OE Consultant scopes and analyses business processes and teams, creating actionable insights for consideration. You will be instrumental in shaping the structure and driving the pace of business change. Principal Accountability for an Operational Excellence Consultant will include the below: Scoping & Mobilising OE Interventions Work with senior management, heads of function and OE colleagues to scope, identify and quantify process improvement opportunities that would benefit from an OE intervention and create a robust, signed-off business case and Project Charter. Intervention Delivery & Oversight Structure, plan and lead large OE interventions and multiple workstreams through their entire life cycle. Benefits Management Track, lock-in and report benefits based on QCDSM (and risks on an ongoing basis) that are directly attributable to large, complex and multiple OE Interventions to ensure maximum delivery of the budgeted benefits. Skills, Qualifications and Experience: * Strong business and industry acumen * Graduate or equivalent business career, experienced in business analysis and having extensive operational experience. * Excellent proven investigative and analytical skills using a variety of Lean, Operational Excellence or Six Sigma techniques. * Widely proven ability to produce actionable insights from scoping and data analysis of a variety of service operations and able to plan large and complex OE interventions and to identify and engage the necessary resources to deliver them * Excellent knowledge of Lean, Operational Excellence and Six Sigma methods and techniques, with the ability to select the appropriate approach for a particular assignment. * Demonstrates exceptional communication, presentation and written skills, with relevant experience of dealing with senior executives, senior business managers and third parties, with the ability to tailor the communications style to suit a variety of audiences. * Excellent interpersonal skills, displaying confidence and professionalism with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders - engaging, managing and influencing where required * Strong experience of programme and project management, including mitigating risks and identifying dependencies. * Exceptional workshop facilitation and interview skills, including negotiation, influencing, mediation and conflict management skills. Able to support the change process within the business and understand and deal with resistance * An excellent knowledge of and proven track record in the use of Lean and OE tools (Workplace Organisation (5S), Process & Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Work Organisation (1 Piece Flow, Takt, 3R's), Process Standardisation, Mentoring/Coaching) and other more advanced techniques (Kanban, Poka Yoka, TPM, Pull Production) * LERC accredited to Advanced Practitioner or Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt preferable. * Extensive demonstrable experience and track record of delivering, facilitating and supporting Lean workshops/work streams across all levels of an organisation ideally within the Service and or Utilities sectors. * An excellent coach and mentor with proven track record of skills transfer and personal development of OE and Customers resources.
