Business Development Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to be based at either our office in Edinburgh or Rainton Bridge (Durham). You will be one of four Business Development Managers in the team reporting to the Head of Projects and Investments. You will be able to use your business and project management expertise to secure investment approval as well as the delivery of each project in accordance with its approved investment case. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary EDF ER project team and key project stakeholders such as land owners, local and national planning authorities, suppliers and other commercial counter-parties. You will be responsible for ensuring that wind farm projects are delivered in accordance with applicable Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures and take a proactive role, as Project Owner, in managing SHEQ performance for each project working closely with the Construction team and other key stakeholders. You will establish and manage project governance processes for each wind farm project involving Shareholders and relevant stakeholders as appropriate, including a monthly steering committee. As part of the role you will also manage and control any budget and costs associated with this role including the approved budget for each wind farm project liaising with the finance and construction teams. As a Business Development Manager you will also be expected to take responsibility for Project document management, ensuring that all documents, contracts and studies relating to a project are obtained in a timely manner and are available to key project stakeholders. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience: * Degree qualified and ideally with a postgraduate qualification in a numerate discipline or ability to demonstrate commensurate experience * Strong track record of producing and presenting accurate financial appraisal and risks analysis for investment in generation assets (preferably developments and renewable assets) * Experience of leading and co-ordinating skilled multi-disciplinary project teams. * Experience of leading project due diligence for power generation projects. Technical and Commercial Knowledge and Skills * Strong financial knowledge * Good understanding of UK legal and contractual environment * Excellent analytical mind with ability to understand Key Business Drivers * Strong communication and presentation skills * Strong at building relationships with internal and external parties * Strong commercial acumen
